Team Attenborough visit to Rutland Water
What a busy couple of days we have had in Team Attenborough!
Yesterday we went to Rutland Water to see the dam first-hand. We looked at a current map and identified some of the villages we could see from the middle of the dam, including Empingham and Hambleton. We then looked a map from the 1970s, before the dam was built, and tried to work out where we were on that map, without Rutland Water on there to help us! We also spent some time sketching what we could see in the landscape around us, ready for when we discuss the positive impacts the reservoir has brought. We even managed to squeeze in a a few minutes at the play area before coming back to school!
Today we had our first Forest School session, which the children really enjoyed. They played games, created wands, climbed trees, built dens and generally had a fantastic time, demonstrating our EPIC values throughout! They then finished off with a well-deserved hot chocolate.
Well done, Team Attenborough- I hope we haven’t tired you out too much!
