• The ability to perform, listen to, compose, review and evaluate music on their own and with others

• An excellent knowledge of a range of music from different historical periods, genres styles and traditions including knowledge of works of great composers and musicians

• A clear understanding of the inter-related dimensions of music: pitch, duration, dynamics, tempo, timbre, texture, structure and appropriate musical notations

• A passion for and commitment to the subject, and a real sense of curiosity to develop their understanding of music.
