Sport at Cottesmore Academy
Welcome to sports at Cottesmore Academy 2020-2021!
Please have a look through all of the EPIC events that we have planned for this year.
This year, we are embarking on a huge challenge. We are going to run to Mali! We are aiming to raise some money for new playground equipment. The reason we have chosen to run to Mali is that some of our parents have been deployed to Mali for several months.
Every day, all of our children and adults in school are running for 15 minutes to try to get all the way to Mali!

Our #Miles2Mali Progress
The team have stayed so motivated this week and have run 724 miles taking our total to 2,111 miles! We're so close now and the hard work of every member of our school is paying off. Personal bests are still being smashed and everyone has a smile on their face whilst running which is fantastic. As you can see from the route map, we have now run through Morocco and have entered Algeria where we are nearly at our last checkpoint before Mali, Elkhalil!
Keep going team!
Our most improved runners last week were:
Year 1: Hisham
Year 2: Sebastian
Year 3: Pierce, Darcy and Jenson
Year 4/5: JD
Year 5/6: Jaden and Logan
A huge well done to you all, we are very proud of you and all your effort!
How to Donate

Our awesome Boccia team played their first fixture of the tournament this week via teams against St Mary and St John School and, after drawing in the initial competition, went on to 'sudden death' penalty throws where they lost to a very good first throw by the opposition. The team represented the school fantastically and all had great fun doing it. Well done team Cottesmore!
