Sport at Cottesmore Academy

Welcome to sports at Cottesmore Academy 2024-2025!

Please have a look through all of the EPIC events, clubs and competitions that we have planned for this year.

Sports Clubs and Enrichment this Year

  • Enrichments will continue every Friday this year! We have a range of activities for children to choose from including: cooking, art, sewing, sports, team building games and nature spotting!

  • Throughout the year, we will be running after school sports clubs for Years 1-6. Please keep an eye out on Parent Mail each term so you know how to sign up as these clubs change on a termly basis.

  • We are very pleased to welcome MACCA Sports. They will be providing us with a sports coach who will be working with us every Friday afternoon starting in Term 2. They will be working alongside our Sports Ambassadors to deliver a lunchtime club; run an enrichment and then provide a sports club after school which develop the skills needed for upcoming Rutland Learning Trust events.

Say Hello To Our Sports Ambassadors!

At Cottesmore Academy, we want our Sports Ambassadors to be role models who can promote the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle. This year, our ambassadors will be working closely alongside Mr Wigginton to further raise the profile of sport across the school as well as encourage as many pupils as possible to take part in physical activity, as possible, on a weekly basis. Our Sports Ambassadors will also be collaborating with MACCA Sports, an external coaching company, who will be coming in to run a lunchtime club every Friday in Terms 2-6.

Millie:

Hi, my name is Millie. I wanted to be a Sports Ambassador because I love to encourage people, of all ages, to be more active and passionate about sports. Personally, I love running, netball, swimming and many other sports. I hope that I can support others in taking part in different sports and trying something new this year. I am looking forward to working with lots of different people and help Cottesmore Academy be as sporty and active as possible!

Nathan:

I feel passionate about sport and I am hoping to inspire people in our school to feel the same way.  I also want to help the children in school develop their communication, teamwork and independence. Most importantly, I want the other children in school to know never to give up and keep pushing to challenge yourself.
