Welcome to Our School

Welcome to Our School

We desire for our children and families to have high aspirations and to feel safe and welcome whilst part of our community. The school is quite unique within Rutland as not only is it situated on Kendrew Barracks but it serves a marvellous diverse community with 100% of the children coming from Service families. Our children come from a range of cultural backgrounds including British, Fijian, Nepalese, African and Caribbean. This unique range of backgrounds enables the school to share and celebrate with the local community and enrich our curriculum at every opportunity.

We strongly believe that a child’s time at school should be one of the best times of their lives and we strive to make sure it is. We aim for our learners to: Think deeply about their learning; Believe in themselves; Dream big and Dare to be the best they can be!

What People Say

  • "Keep up the good work, my child loves this school. I am proud to have my children go to this school. It is excellent, you all understand the specifics of Armed Forces life."

"As a family we are extremely grateful for the support and more importantly, the warmth and respect the staff have offered our children!"

    A Parent

  • "The teachers are really friendly and are easy to talk to if you are worried. The best thing about our school is everyone is kind and some children come from different countries, so they can share their adventures. We are not all people of the same culture here."

    A Child

  • "The teachers are exceptional at managing the children's emotional needs in such a calm and understanding way. Very impressive!"

Education Inclusion Partnership Coordinator, Rutland County Council

"After visiting Cottesmore Academy recently, I must say that I am not surprised that you are making a difference to the pupils you teach and just wanted to say well done to you all at school. I am over-awed in the changes and progress in school, not just the environment but in teaching and learning."
