Hello and welcome to the Team Holmes class page!

At Cottesmore Academy, we believe the Early Years are a magical time filled with curiosity, creativity, wonder and discovery. Every child is unique, and we celebrate each individual as they grow, learn and develop. Through exciting, hands-on experiences, we aim to nurture a lifelong love of learning and build strong foundations for the future.

Our classroom is a language-rich, calm and nurturing environment, where children feel safe, valued and ready to explore. We encourage children to become confident communicators, independent thinkers and enthusiastic learners through purposeful play and meaningful experiences.

We follow the children's interests and fascinations, giving them opportunities to investigate, ask questions, solve problems and share their ideas. Alongside developing key skills, we encourage a positive attitude towards learning, helping children to become resilient and confident when facing new challenges.

In Early Years, we aim to:

• Provide an inclusive and engaging curriculum that builds on children's interests, ideas and fascinations.
• Develop strong communication and language skills, giving every child the confidence to express themselves and share their thoughts.
• Inspire curiosity, concentration and creativity through purposeful play, exploration and discovery.
• Encourage independence, perseverance and a “have a go” attitude, helping children to develop resilience and confidence.
• Create a safe, caring and respectful environment where every child feels valued, listened to and supported.
• Build the skills, attitudes and love of learning that will support children throughout their school journey and beyond.
