Number and Place Value

In preparation for next year, it is vital that we go back and focus on Number and Place Value as this is the corner stone for all Mathematics in 5/6. 

Monday - Roman Numerals

Tuesday - Number to 10,000

Wednesday - Number to 100,000

Thursday - Numbers to one million

Friday - Number to ten million

It is vital that the children rehearse saying these number aloud as then it is clear whether the children are able to understand the value of each number. This is very important and something that often slips through the gap, it is also something that we have been working on this year in detail. 

Remember to encourage the children to play as many maths games as they can as again the children will have fun whilst learning!
