Exciting Egyptian Discoveries
This week KS2 have been exploring and discovering all about Tutankhamun’s tomb. On Monday, Year 3 children were led into the darken tomb in small groups to see what they could discover. They found a forgotten tomb that had not been uncovered for thousands of years. Working collaboratively, they had to try and crack the secret hieroglyphs by using UV torches. This revealed and told them all about who first found the hidden tomb. Through this exploration child found out that Howard Carter and his Sponsor had first made the discovery in 1922. This exploration of the tomb will support children with their writing as they will go on to write a diary entry from the perspective of Howard Carter and what he discovered all those years ago.
