Little Heroes club

Welcome to Little Heroes Club

Little Heroes Club was set up primarily to support those children who had a parent on deployment for either a long or short period of time.  It is an opportunity for the children to share their worries with others who are experiencing the same situation.  The children enjoy a varied range of activities including:

  • Making a memory/sharing box
  • Creative makes to give to their parent on return
  • Keeping safe a special piece of work they have done in class that they are proud of
  • Writing a letter or bluey to their parent

The children enjoy spending time with each other and have some lovely conversations and many have said it really helps to know they are not the only one.

Due to the popularity of the club, we are now supporting children who are experiencing any type of transition for example: moving house, school or country.  If you feel your child would benefit from additional support, please complete a transition form which is available from the school office.  Your child will then be allocated a place at the club.

We really value feedback from parents regarding the impact the club is having on their children as this enables us to further develop the support we can offer your child. As requested by parents, we now have now set up a dojo page with weekly updates outlining the activities we have completed and which can be further developed at home.

A recent addition to the club has been Boedy Bear (named by the children).  Boedy comes to club every week to offer additional support and lots of hugs.  The children take it in turns to take Boedy home and look after him for a week and fill in his adventure diary with all the exciting things he has been getting up to.
