Our new English unit began today with the arrival of a newspaper. The headline was 'Daleks living in Rutland'! This got us discussing what we thought about this! In teams the children worked hard to think of reasons they should and should not be allowed to live among us and then presented these to the class. Each group held a vote. It was close! 2 groups managed to persuade the class Daleks should be allowed to live in Rutland but 2 groups persuaded the class that they shouldn't! Great teamwork today and a brilliant start to our unit on discussion texts!
We had an EPIC start to our theme 'Inside Out' today. We were using this amazing t-shirt to look at our insides! The Jay class were fascinated and couldn't wait to find out more!
Our Outdoor and Adventure PE lesson began today with teams solving a jigsaw puzzle to find out what activity they were doing to warm up! Great teamwork Jays, especially as the wind was against us!
Using concrete apparatus in Maths to help us fully understand how to exchange when adding and subtracting larger numbers.
We began our Coding ICT unit today with our resident expert Mr Foster!
We've learnt all about discussion texts and now we're ready to write our own! We've chosen to write about 'The Daily Mile' - a new national initiative to get us fitter and more aware of our health! Before we can write, we need to do some research and what could be better to start with than running the daily mile ourselves!

It's not a race but we are all keen to get going!
Exhausted but eager to do it again!
