This term our theme is Europe! The children have been set the task of finding out all about different European countries so they can say where they would like to visit and why. We had a brilliant beginning, tasting lots of different European food and working out where they came from!
After tasting the different foods, the children took part in a quiz about Europe. They had to search the classroom to find the answers to the questions.
The children have been set the challenge of writing a non-chronological report about a European country they would like to visit. In English, they have been investigating and learning about the features of this type of report ready to start writing their own!
In Maths, we have been learning about formal, written methods of multiplying. We often work together to investigate and solve problems and sometimes we even help to teach!
Busy discussing our books in 'Book Talk'.
We've been thinking about how a writer makes their writing interesting to read and found that they used a variety of different sentence types. After that, we worked in pairs to discuss the best conjunctions to extend our sentences so we're ready to write our own fabulous non-chronological reports!
Planning and researching our class non-chronological report!
In dance, we have been learning about traditional European dance movements. We have learnt some movements and then had a go at devising our own to put in to a dance!
Investigating the physical features of Europe in geography!
We've been learning about fractions this term. Take a look at some of the exciting activities we have been doing!
Relaxing and reading in our fabulous new library!
